Information You Send
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that produces results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those search terms. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
The host may create ordinary server logs, including an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and time stamps. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand readership. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Data Is Used
We use this limited data to operate the service, resolve technical issues, measure aggregate traffic, and improve content. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links may lead to Onondaga County or New York records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Those services apply their own privacy practices to anything you submit. The same is true for sponsored results supplied by a third party.
Data Recipients
Hosting and support providers process server logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic technical data described above. We disclose data only when a valid legal requirement calls for it.
Data Security
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because the site has no user accounts, it does not store visitor passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Information Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data that we hold. New York had not enacted a comprehensive online-tracking privacy law in the Attorney General guidance used for this project, so requests are handled through the contact mailbox and applicable consumer-protection law. We keep little data and will search the contact mailbox and relevant logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by a New York, Onondaga County, or Lysander custodian are outside our control and must be addressed to that office.
